Chek Lap Kok International Airport updated to V2.1.3 (October 2020).

Hong Kong International Airport (IATA: HKG, ICAO: VHHH) is the commercial airport serving Hong Kong, built on reclaimed land on the island of Chek Lap Kok. The airport is also colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok Airport. The airport is the world's busiest cargo gateway and one of the world's busiest passenger airports. It is also home to one of the world's largest passenger terminal buildings (the largest when opened in 1998). Given the importance of this airport in the Asia Pacific region, I've returned to refresh my first X-Plane scenery development. This mega airport consists of the following structures and POIs:
- VHHH Main Terminal- VHHH Satellite and Midfield Terminals- Expansive POIs including but not limited to:> Lantau Big Buddha and Cable Cars> Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities under Construction> Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macau Bridge> Asia World Expo> Lai Chi Kok, Tsing Yi and Stonecutters Island Container Terminal> Kowloon - Includes many prominent landmarks Tsim Tsa Tsui Ferry Terminal, Hong Kong Cultural Center, Avenue of Starts, Harbor City, New Yau Ma Typhoon shelter center, ICC Tower and surrounding> Central - Includes many prominent landmarks such as Bank of China, Central Plaza, Jardine House, Convention and Exhibition Center, Central Pier Ferry Terminal, HK Macau Ferry Terminal, IFC and surrounding
NOTE: While this scenery is optimized to deliver decent FPS, this airport is hard on FPS once you load WT3, complex airplanes and layers of clouds. Be sure you have a modern (less than 3 year old) gaming computer. My scenery development computer is an Intel I7-6800K, 32Gb Ram, and nVidia GTX 1070. Under default 737, with most severe weather, dawn settings, and 100% WT3 traffic, my FPS averages 20 FPS depending on angle. To improve FPS, reduce your in-game settings. Alternatively, keep your V1.3 as backup in case you need to revert back to V1.3 if you cannot find an acceptable FPS with V2.1.
Features1. Highly detailed rendition of Chek Lap Kok and surrounding areas. Textures are HD and include baked shader textures. PBR textures also used in main, satellite, midfield and ground textures for depth and specular effects. Note that these features impact FPS.2. Reflective apron surfaces using RA Library files.3. VHHH Main, Satelite and Midfield Terminals and Control Tower completely re-modelled in Sketchup. Main Terminal includes interior modelling. Golf carts and travelator animated. Besides the terminals, there are numerous custom objects created, and/or adapted from Sketchup's freeware 3D warehouse objects.4. All Terminals feature SAM V1.0.3 custom jetways. Download link provided below. Note that I will not be providing support for SAM use in the Sim, especially if your aircraft is not recognized by SAM Jetways. SAM will not not work with all aircrafts. Report your technical issues to SAM directly at https://forum.thresholdx.net/files/file/122-sam-scenery-animation-manager/5. Some outlying buildings originally created by Jouvarn Gultom for FS9 and available as freeware in 2004. Converted to XPlane, the models were subsequently stripped down and extensively rebuilt.6. Includes airport Ortho tile as a separate download for those who wish to have Ortho for VHHH.
7. ILS and Glideslope entry in usernav to tweak the NBD object at the end of runway 7R. However, the bug remains and the object is visible as you approach 7R. READ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION CAREFULLY TO AVOID ILS LANDING ON GRASS IF NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED AND MESSING UP YOUR OTHER SCENERIES.8. Tweaked night lighting to give it a good overall feel.9. Ground routes created for WT3 users. Airline parking assignments configured. Static aircrafts strategically placed, and do not conflict with WT3 ground routes. XPL 11 native ground vehicles bring the airport to life. Airport fuel trucks available.
Imperfections in V2xx1. This scenery and surrounding areas are not meant to be a replica of the real thing. As with my prior airport, this is a plausible representation of the areas. Some buildings / objects / textures are used because I liked them and not because they exist in real life.2. Not all objects are true to scale and/or placed in the exact location in real life.3. I did not test all the ground routes for WT3 aircraft taxiways so if there are weird things an A.I. aircraft does, please report them.4. V2.1.3 includes updates from Tsui Chun Yiu based on his interpretation of the taxiway in and around J2. I have not validated this update from an accuracy standpoint, but since Tsui Chun Yiu is a native of Hong Kong (and I am not), I trust the update is a more accurate representation of the airport.
